Picnic with my BF (boyfriend + best friend)
This past Saturday David and I went on a picnic. He made sandwiches, I made lemonade, and we both devoured watermelon. Good times were had.

Cows eating Chicken
Today is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A. David, his dad, and I went dress like cows and got FREE meals. It was Awesome!
Ric Rac Minky Blanket
My friend from college is having a baby girl! Of course I wanted to make her something special. I decided to try and make a Ric Rac Minky Blanket. I have made a minky blanket before, but I have never sewn with ric rac.
Believe it or not, ric rac is easy to sew with and it adds an extra touch of cuteness!
With the extra fabric I made a burp cloth and a diaper/wipe holder.
It’s as simple as that. I wonder what I will use Ric Rac on next?

Pirate Shirts
David’s nephew Jack enjoys playing pirates. This gave me the idea to make Pirate Shirts for Jack, Sam, and Lucy. We were all going to the beach so pirate shirts would be perfect.
For the painting, I made stencils out of freezer paper. I have never used freezer paper before and it works so well. All you do is print off text or images, place it under the freezer paper with the wax side facing down, cut out the image with an X-Acto knife, and iron the freezer paper on the desired fabric. Then sponge paint over the freezer paper stencil. Where the paper is cut the paint will go on the fabric. When done painting, peel off the freezer paper and you are left with a nice crisp painted image.
Note: Be sure and place card board or paper in the shirt so paint does not leak through.

Rainy Day Sewing
I’ve wanted to make a Simple Skirt. When the rain came I decided today was a good day to sew. Instead of going out and buying fabric, I used dresses I had lying around. I cut the tops off of each dress, sewed a band around the top of the skirt and added elastic. This was a very quick and easy sewing project. Now I have two new cute skirts!
Shell Wreath
I got the idea for the Shell Wreath from Pinterest. It just so happened that I would be going to the beach. While at the beach I collected a ton of shells. I bought a starfish and a few sand dollars at a local shop.
I started with a straw floral wreath.
Before adding shells, I painted the wreath white to help hide the tan color. Then I started randomly adding shells. I hot glued the bigger shells on first and used the smaller shells to cover up the empty spaces. Last, I glued on the starfish and sand dollars.
I chose a nice deep blue ribbon to hang the wreath from.
The shell wreath goes wonderfully with my beach collection.
Acorn Wreath
This wreath is a little ‘out of season’, but I saw it on MADE and wanted to go ahead and make it since I had acorns. I found the acorns at a local playground a few months ago. I baked them for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. It’s a good idea to bake the acorns to be sure and kill any bugs that are living.
I bought a straw floral wreath and began hot gluing the acorns onto the wreath. This is a very tedious process.

The wreath painted an Ivy Leaf green and the finished product.
